When was the last time you looked at a mirror? I believe this morning, when you are wearing your favorite shirt or might be putting your make up.
We look at our reflection everyday to make sure that we are properly dressed-up and we look nice or presentable. As we do this as a daily routine, how often do you also reflect in your life?
As the year ends, let us reflect what happened in the year 2014? What have you achieved and accomplished? Were you able to hit your goals? Are you happy and satisfied with your performance?
I am sure that there were a lot of things that happened. Some of us may have a good year, but some may have a not so good year.
But just like what #ZigZiglar always say, “It does not matter what happens to you, it is what you do with what happened to you that matters most.”
LEARN FROM YOUR PAST MISTAKES
Learning how to look back and reflect, and learn from the right and wrong things we’ve done is one of the greatest lessons that you can learn in life.
Do not allow the pains of defeat to weigh you down and hold you back from achieving what you want and exercising your God given potential. The scar of defeat is a good reminder where you came from, so that you will know that the path to success is not an easy journey. Once you reached the destination of SUCCESS you will start to celebrate the thrill of victory and forget the agony of defeat.
There is a saying that goes, “A person who does not know how to learn from his past mistakes is not wise. But a person who expects a different result but keep on doing the same thing over and over again is INSANE.”
NEVER REINVENT THE WHEEL
The wheel is forever round, you can never invent another shape that can run faster and better. Yes, I do agree with that saying but one thing I learned is you can sure IMPROVE it.
Now, I do not want to take too much of your time, since I know you still want to celebrate the coming of the New Year. But as the year ends, let me leave you with these questions.
Now do you want things to IMPROVE, to be BETTER, and to be BIGGER this 2015?
In order for us to move on towards an IMPROVED, BETTER & BIGGER 2015, let us learn how to look back to 2014.
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.
So I want you to get a piece of paper and separate it into two columns.
I want you to put this into writing.
FIRST COLUMN
MISTAKES – WHAT DID YOU LEARN?
Where did I go wrong?
How can I avoid committing the same mistake?
What is my strategy to move on?
SECOND COLUMN
CORRECT – WHAT CAN YOU IMPROVE?
What did you do right?
How can you improve it or innovate it?
How can you move up to the next level?
How can you increase your revenues or output?
