PAANO ANG HINDI MAINGGIT?

June 11, 2019 By Chinkee Tan

What if nanalo ako sa lotto?
What if I have everything I ever dreamed of?
What if meron akong maraming kotse?
What if mas mayaman ako kaysa sa kapitbahay namin?
What if maginhawa lang sana yung buhay namin ngayon?

Have you ever thought of these questions?

we already have everything we need.

Masyado lang sigurong nakatingin yung mata natin
sa kung ano ang meron sa iba.

Here’s a “rule” about life that we should break:
NEVER EVER COMPARE.

Whether career, bank account, family, and status quo pa ‘yan.

“Bakit naman Chinkee?”

COMPARING MAKES ROOM FOR ENVY

We might not be aware of the things we are thinking
the moment we look at others’ possessions or life status,
but the fact na magkaroon tayo ng desire na gustuhin na rin
kung ano ang meron sila with no apparent reason is dangerous.

the way we evaluate and observe the things around us.

We can ask ourselves these:

“What for at gugustuhin ko ring bumili ng kotse?”
“What is the purpose of buying a lot and construct a house
“Why do I keep on comparing my life to others?”

The moment we ask ourselves these questions,
it’s like we are creating our own trap.
Digging a hole of greed and envy
because we keep on comparing our life to others.

IT DEVELOPS CORRUPT CHARACTER

Envy also develops corrupt character.
ng uncontentment and envy to the point na sa kagustuhan natin
na mahigitan ang iba and to possess almost everything
ay nakasasakit na pala tayo ng tao.
Whether verbally, non-verbally o kahit sa isip lang.

Among the things that envy can ruin in our lives
is our character and the beauty of having a genine heart.
In short, nadudungisan every time na nakararamdam tayo ng inggit.

BE HAPPY WITH OTHER’S SUCCESS

We are growing to mature physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Putting down others because of what they achieved,
and comparing ourselves and our achievements to them
are signs of being immature and it shows that we are not yet ready sa
we are looking at life the wrong way.

Instead of wishing to acquire what others have
just to fit in the society, why not be grateful instead?

  • Can you name a person whom you can tap and say “I am happy for you”?
