From Henry Sy to John Gokongwei Jr.,
who else is also known as one of the richest
billionaires and most successful tycoon in the country?
No other than Mr. Lucio Tan.
Yes si uncle Lucio — ang aking uncle
na walang idea na ako ay pamangkin niya
dahil hindi totoo haha.
Who is he?
Siya lang naman ang man behind:
Philippine Airlines, Asia Brewery, PNB,
Fortune Tobacco, and Eton Properties.
But just like the others, ang buhay din
niya ay from rags to riches.
Started as a janitor at a tobacco company
para lang masustentuhan ang kanyang pag-aaral.
But because he had a big dream,
yung experiences niya at hirap
did not stop him to become who he is today.
And until now, he still continues to inspire everyone
especially those yung mga nawawalan ng pag-asa
na makaahon pa sa hirap.
Hindi naman kasi sa klase ng pinanggalingan
nakasalalay ang buhay natin ngayon.
Kahit galing sa hirap, kapag may gusto,
lahat kayang gawan ng paraan.
Ano pa ba yung mga tips na pwede natin
matutunan from Lucio Tan?

He experienced a lot of failures in his business
when he was starting and even until now
dahil hindi naman natin maiiwasan ito.
But for him, these are the perfect ingredients
so we can come up with a solution
to make something work.
Without the failures, we will never know
kung saan tayo pwede mag-improve o
hanggang saan ang ating kakayanin
para ipaglaban ang ating mga pangarap.

Kung makaangat angat sa buhay,
it’s good to be proud of yourself but not too proud
kasi kapag naging masyado tayong mataas,
baka makalimutan na nating pakaingatan
yung perang pinagpaguran natin at mapunta sa wala.
It’s okay to reward ourselves but
make sure we keep our feet on the ground.
Never brag para lang makapag yabang.
Huwag din pataasin ang ego at kalimutan
yung mga taong nakapaligid at tumulong sa atin.

Kapag may naisip tayong idea,
who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters? Haha.
‘Di ba we share it with our family, friends, or a certain group? Why?
Because we believe that there’s something
with our ideas na kailangan nilang malaman
so they can give their opinions para
we can further improve it.
‘Yan ang kinagandahan ng network.
We have people whom we can depend on
who believes in our potential and helps turn
our ideas into practical solutions.
Huwag natin sarilihin.
Sabi nga, we are not selling our ideas,
it’s more of gaining followers.

Importante that we work on our attitude first
then the rest will just follow.
Maging patas lagi, may respeto,
at hindi nanlalamang ng kapwa
dahil hindi ito mabibili ng ating pera.
