Do you want doing things your own way?
Mabilis ka bang mainis?
Gusto mo ba agad-agad?
In other words, demanding ka ba?
Bakit nga ba may mga taong demanding?
Masama ba maging demanding?
Now, is being demanding good or bad?
Before I answer that question, let us first define the word demanding.
The dictionary defines demanding as making others work hard or to meet high standards.
Kung titingnan natin, parang mahirap sagutin kung ang pagiging demanding is a good or bad thing.
When people demand of us, parang napipilitan tayong maging excellent, to work hard, and to raise our standards.
Kumbaga, being given or being subjected to demands puts pressure on us to deliver. It can make us stronger, test our mettle, and hone our skills – which will eventually lead us to discover some strengths and abilities that we never knew we had.
Here are my two cents on this:
KAPAG MAY NASISIRA NA MGA RELATIONSHIPS
Minsan nagkaka-friction na between the person who is demanding and the person who is being pressured or subjected to demands.
Aminin natin, most of the time, when we are bombarded with demands by people around us (boss, family, co-worker, friend, spouse, etc.), nagdudulot ito ng matinding stress sa atin.
And when we are under a lot of stress, mabilis tayong magalit at mainis. Kapag ganoon na ang sitwasyon, hindi malabong magkaroon ng conflict and when not resolved immediately, unti-unting masisira ang relationships.
KAPAG ANG MOTIVATION IS SELFISHNESS
Minsan, ang objective ng mga taong nagde-demand from us is to bring out the best in us. They want us to have a good life. They want to teach us a lesson or enrich us.
Pero most of the time, may mga taong demanding dahil wala silang ibang iniisip at iniintindi kundi ang kanilang mga sarili. If that’s the case, then it’s not a good thing.
Whenever we are tempted to be demanding, palagi nating isipin kung ano ba ang motivation natin when we demand.
Kung tayo ang nasa kalagayan nila, anong mararamdaman natin when people make unreasonable demands from us?
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.
Are you demanding?
What’s your motive for being demanding?
How can we stop ourselves from being too demanding?
