“What!!!
Yes, Jesus gave this command to His disciple, Peter, and also to all who who follow and love Him.
Because we are asked to actually forgive yung mga taong nanakit sa atin ng 490 times!
Kung gusto natin maunawaan kung ano ba ang tunay na kahulugan nito, we need to learn how to read it not by the letter of the law, but through the spirit of the law.
NOT FOR THE OFFENDER’S SAKE
The act of forgiving is not for the benefit of the offender or yung nakasakit sa atin.
FOR THE OFFENDED SAKE
On the other hand, God’s command to forgive is for the benefit of the person na na-offend.
God wants to give us peace. He promised that He wants to give us life to the fullest. We cannot live a peaceful and fulfilled life kung tayo ay nabubuhay with unforgiveness in our heart.
This is the reason why God wants us to forgive not only 7 times but 70×7 times, not for the offender’s sake but for OUR PERSONAL SAKE.
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY
Ikaw, handa ka na ba magpatawad?
Handa ka na ba ma-release sa iyong mental and emotional pain, and stress na dala ng sama ng loob sa kapwa mo?
Handa ka na ba magpatawad ng 70×7?
