Sa sobrang simple nito, we often take this for granted.
Noong ako ay batang-bata pa, may mga kapitbahay ako na mahilig mag teks.
(Para sa mga millennials, hindi siya texting, It is a card game that you play and whoever wins would take all the cards.)
Araw-araw kaming naglalaro at ang goal namin ay manalo at paramihan ng teks. Without me knowing, from a harmless card game, the next thing we were playing was pusoy dos. From pusoy to mahjong, from mahjong to big and small.
In other words, I was addicted to gambling at my early teens.
Hindi ako naging sugarol ng overnight. I just hang out with them, then I gradually became one.
Kaya nga may kasabihan, “You tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.”
Another quote, “Birds of the same feather, flocks together.”
Ever since I learned this principle I also applied this when I made a decision to become successful.
“I SURROUNDED MYSELF WITH WISER AND SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE”
The people you are with can either bring you up or bring you down.
Choose to be with people who know more than you, who have experienced more things than you, and who are more successful than you. This way, you can be surrounded by models and mentors that you can emulate and learn from.
Like I always say, experience is not the best teacher — the best teacher is other people’s mistakes and experiences.
Kaya pag dating sa mga friendship at ‘bes’ mo, this is the time na dapat maging CHOOSY ka!
If you surround yourself with people who are wiser and successful than you, there is nowhere else to go but up.
“Surround yourself only with influentially POSITIVE and SUCCESSFUL people and you will soon become like them.”
